Karachi: Governor Singh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan held a meeting with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Sunday to review law and order situation in Karachi.
During the meeting Governor Sindh questioned why the people had been forced to look up to other institutions rather than police for bringing peace to the metropolis.
Home Minister Manzoor Wasan, IG Sindh and Acting DG Rangers and other hi-ups attended the meeting.
It was decided that steps would be taken for the release of the people being held hostage in the city.
The governor directed that improvement in performance of law enforcing agencies be made visible within the next few days.
The meeting also decided that more SHOs and DIGs be given the task of putting an end to the kidnapping for ransom and collection of extortion money and action be taken against the officials in case they fail to deliver.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah directed the LEAs to launch a crack down on miscreants enjoying any political patronage.
