Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board’s Integrity Committee has cleared former test captain Shoaib Malik from financial misconduct Friday, making the all-rounder eligible to play for Pakistan again.
Malik has been out of international cricket for a year after the PCB’s Integrity Committee opened an inquiry in December 2010 over deposits to an overseas account belonging to Malik.
The PCB said in a statement that Malik “has been able to establish that the said deposits did not emanate from any questionable source or activity.”
PCB chairman Ijaz Butt heads the integrity committee, which also includes a retired judge and top cricket board officials.
