Ankara: IHH, a Turk based NGO, is sending the first emergency relief vessel named “Gazze” from Turkey to Somalia, which is going through the worst drought in 60 years.
The vessel loaded with 3000 tons of food stuffs and medical materials has already set sail from Zeyport Port, Istanbul after loading was completed.
IHH-Humanitarian Relief Foundation has been carrying out relief works since the early hays when drought struck. The foundation has been delivering food, medicines and tents to the refugees in Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia. The total number of beneficiaries from the relief work of the foundation has reached to 385,000 by the date.
