Karachi: Sindh Rangers have completed its hours long search operation in most violence-hit area of Pakistan’s financial hub, arresting at least 25 suspects and also recovering weapons in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The operation was followed by a high level meeting chaired by Pakistan Interior Minister and other high officials of Sindh government including security officials. The meeting decided that indiscriminate operation will be launched in the tense areas of Karachi.
The latest operation was carried out in Gulfamabad, Bukhari Colony and Kati Pahari areas of Orangi Town which lasted more than two hours. Before the operation electricity of the affected area were shut down that increased trouble of the masses.
Residents of the affected areas termed the operation so-called, saying the terrorist and culprits would be active in their notorious activities after some rest. They demanded transparent and clean sweep operation against the persons involved in killings and arsons.
Rangers have also started patrolling in the affected areas and several check-posts have also been setting up in various parts of the metropolis. Rangers check-posts have been establishing in Orangi Town, Malir, Landhi, Quaid-e-Azam Colony, Abul Asphani Road, Gulshan and PIB colony.
Frontier Constabulary has also given police powers in Karachi.
President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has also called all Sindh Minister to Islamabad to review the deteriorating situation of Karachi.
