Lahore: United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has decided to confer prestigious “Confucius Prize for Literacy, 2011” upon Dr. Allah Bakhsh Malik, Secretary Literary & Non Forman Basic Education Department Punjab.
The decision of giving award was made by an international jury for outstanding contributions by the individuals and organizations around the globe.
Dr. Malik is the first Pakistani to receive “Confucius Award” from UNESCO, in recognition of his professional leadership role of promoting the cause of literacy and education in Punjab. He will be awarded Confucius Prize on International Literacy Day to be held on September 08, 2011.
