Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PMl-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujat Hussain strongly condemned severe criticism inflicted upon the role of Pakistan Army in the Abbottabad Commission.
He said that the investigation should have taken places under the auspices of Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) and that report of findings should have been presented directly to the Parliament and the Cabinet. He further said, that there should be absolutely no political interferences in the working of Armed forces. After the appointment of the commission, the situation has become so grim that any person even a UC Member of a party has started giving blatant statements against the Army which is detrimental to the National integrity and security of Pakistan.
He termed it as unfortunate and highly irresponsible on part of the Commission members that the findings are made public on various media sources while the investigation is still underway by the commission.
This not only damages the respect and dignity of Army and Media but also of the Judiciary since the Commission is chaired by the Honorable Justice of Supreme Court.
Speaking about the commission PML President Chaudhry Shujat Hussain said, “That is why I pinpointed this issue at a very early stage when no soul was even talking about it that it would be unnecessary to make this commission and now it seems that there is more loss than gain in this deal. As work done in haste always ends up in waste.”
Chaudhry Shujat Hussain urged that, need of the hour is to bravely fight out the big challenges faced by our country. He said that the entire nation should stand beside the two pivotal national institutions- Pakistan Army and ISI. Since our internal and external enemies are constantly conspiring and working against them.
PML Leader insisted that, in the larger interest of Pakistan’s National Security there should not be any hesitation in closing this commission and it should not be made a point of ego.
