Karachi: MQM Chief Altaf Hussain on Monday directed Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan to return Pakistan with immediate effect and take the charge of his office as Governor Sindh.
According to official sources, an special plan on the direction of President Asif Ali Zardari has left for Dubai to take Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan back in the country.
The sources said that Dr Khan would arrive Karachi at 0145 PST and hold a meeting with President Zardari.
Dr Ishratul Ibad has reportedly accepted this direction, and will take up his responsibilities on his return to Pakistan.
Dr Khan will return Pakistan at 0400 PST via flight EK-604, sources said.
MQM had quit the PPP-led government on June 27, 2011 in center and Sindh.
Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan had also tendered his resignation to President Asif Ali Zardari.
The MQM Chief order came after a request by President Asif Ali Zardari, say sources.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that MQM’s decision to return in the government was an political decision.
Awami National Party said in a press statement that they were hopeful that MQM would must review its decision. MQM’s decision would help restorating peace in Karachi, ANP statement said.
MQM leader Raza Haroon said that PML-N was also a friendly party and MQM would continue talks with PML-N. MQM would try to convince PML-N that they were in still opposition, he added.
