Khanewal: At least nine people including eight members of a family were killed and several others in a road accident in Khanewal district of Punjab province of Pakistan, rescues sources said late on Sunday.
The accident took place at Chawan Bridge on Kabirwala-Multan road when a speeding truck hit a van coming from opposite side. As a result, eight members of a family including five ladies, two children and a man lost their lives. The truck driver also succumbed to his injuries.
Thirteen others people received in the incident. The injured were rushed to Nushtar Hospital for treatment.
The number of causalities may rise as at least eleven injured were stated to be in critical condition.
All the deceased and the injured were hailed from Basti Syedian of Kabirwala.
