Karachi: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has taken notice of Zulfiqar Mirza’s statement against Urdu speaking community and called him to President house for explanation.
Mirza’s statement led to large scale protests in some parts of the country.
Presidential spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that Mirza had been summoned in the wake of controversial statement given by him last night. The Pakistan Peoples’ Party has already disowned the statement and called on its rank and file to show restraint in public statements.
Mirza was asked that immediately report to the party leadership in the Federal Capital.
