Leeds: Leeds Metropolitan University, one of the best universities in the UK, has announced to award honorary degree to renowned Pakistani businessman and founder of AAGRAH Group of Restaurants Haji Muhammad Sabir.
The degree will be awarded to Sabir during the university’s annual convocation to be held on July 18 for his services rendered for humanity as well as business skills.
The university having 30,000 students and over 3,000 faculty members will award degrees in business, law and other disciplines to 5,000 students this year.
Leeds Metropolitan University was among the six best universities last year.
Hailing from Mirpur, Haji Muhammad Sabir was honoured with the New Year Honour Award and the Life Time Achievement Award in 2006.
He opened AAGRAH Restaurant in 1977 at Shipley Town near Bradford. Today the restaurant has 14 branches, employing 300 workers.
Sabir had given 1.2 million pound in charity for various welfare organizations of the UK and Pakistan.
