Islamabad: Acting Governor State Bank of Pakistan Yasin Anwar has taken charge of the SBP after the resignation of Shahid Kardar.
Governor SBP has resigned, a finance ministry official said on Wednesday. Kardar is the second governor SBP who left the seat in just over a year.
Shahid Hafiz Kardar had assumed the charge of Governor SBP for a period of under one year with effect from September 9, 2010.
Kardar, an eminent economist, was the 16th Governor of SBP since its inception in 1948.
“I can confirm that he has submitted his resignation,” the Finance Ministry official said while speaking on condition of anonymity as he is not authorised to speak to the media.
