Islamabad: The Federal Government has barred its officials from premature sharing of information with the media.
According to a statement issued by the Establishment Division on Wednesday the government officials have been directed not to share information with the media as it bring embarrassment for the government.
The statement available with a private television warned of stern action against the officials who found offending the government direction.
According to the statement premature sharing of information is violation of Government Services Act clause 18 and 22.
Commenting on the latest directions by the PPP-led government, Editor in chief The News Tribe Zulfiqar Ali say, imposing ban on media is the sheer violation of the Pakistani Constitution and the manifesto of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
