KARACHI: Pakistan has been drawn in group ‘A’ at the US$700,000 20-team snooker World Cup which starts in Bangkok on Monday.
According to groups, other teams drawn alongside Pakistan are top seed Wales, Egypt, Germany and eighth seed Ireland.
Top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals of the event which concludes on July 17.
The teams have been equally drawn in four groups which are as follows.

Group ‘A’: Wales (Mark Williams and Mathew Stevens); Egypt (Wael Talat and Yasser Al Sherbini); Pakistan (Shahid Aftab and Mohammad Sajjad); Germany (Patrick Einsle and Lasse Munstermann); Ireland (Ken Doherty and Fergal O’Brien).
Group ‘B’: China (Ding Junhui and Liang Wenbo); Thailand one (James Wattana and Dechawat Poomjaeng); UAE (M. Mustafa Shehab and Mohammad Al Joaker); Malta (Tony Drago and Alex Borg); Australia (Neil Robertson and Steve Mifsud).
Group ‘C’: England (Mark Selby and Ali Carter); Brazil (Itaro Santos and partner); India (Aditya Mehta and Pankaj Advani); Belgium (Bjorn Haneveer and Luca Brecel); Northern Ireland (Mark Allen and Gerard Greene).
