Harbhajan Singh became the third Indian bowler to claim 400 wickets when he bowled Carlton Baugh in the third test at Windsor Park on Thursday. Kapil Dev was the first and Anil Kumble the second. Kumble is the leading Indian wicket taker with more than 600 wickets. Kapil has 434.
Harbhajan began his test career in March 1998Â against Australia. But he remained a little known bowler until he took 32 wickets in three matches in a home series against Australia in 2001.
He has faced chucking allegations during his career and has been involved in controversies.
Lately he has improved his batting a lot and can soon be called an all-rounder. He now has two centuries and nine fifties in tests with an average of almost 19.
