Islamabad: Prime Minister Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that government was facing no threat from opposition or corruption.
“Government is facing no threat from corruption or opposition. Allegations of corruption were always leveled against politicians in the history of the country and no such accusations were brought against the dictators “, he said this onTuesday.
He went on to say democracy would not be derailed and media and people would not tolerate any undemocratic step.
He said government and Supreme Court (SC) were not on confrontational path. Additional DG FIA Zafar Qureshi had been suspended only. Inquiry had been initiated against him and his fate would be decided on the conclusion of inquiry.
Twentieth (20th) constitutional amendment was no issue in terms of by polls, he said, added that, all the people had come to parliament through polls. No one will have to lose one’s seat, he maintained.
If Indian leadership has united for elimination of corruption then it is their issue, he said adding we are answerable on the affairs of Pakistan.
“We are in constant contact with MQM and they are still in the government. If Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain wanted to play any role to pacify MQM then he will welcome him”, he underlined.
Government is facing no threat whatsoever from any grand alliance or London alliance, he said. Government will complete its constitutional term, he said.
Appointment of chairman NAB will be made in line with law, he announced. Opposition has every right to criticise government but government tolerates this criticism, he underlined. We want political stability in the country as no economic stability comes in the country without political stability, he underscored.
“We have started the politics of reconciliation and we convinced our political rivals and made them part of ruling coalition”, he added.
We are continuing the journey of uplift projects and we have integrated 2000-megawatt electricity in our system during the last year, he maintained.
Government began Benazir Income Support Program for alleviation of poverty, he said adding poverty survey has been started and smart cards will be issued to deserving persons after completion of survey.
“We cannot tolerate some ones raises finger on Pakistan, he said adding Islamabad is symbol of Pakistan. Directives have been issued for provision of amenities in Kachchi Abadis in Islamabad, he told.
Park Enclave project would fetch income of billion of rupees to CDA, he held. All the four provincial chief ministers have been convinced in the meeting of council for common interests to provide water to Islamabad out of their quota so that water issue could be addressed in Islamabad, he pointed out.
Fastest bus service will be started between the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, he indicated. This project will be completed within six months, he added. Education city project will also be started, he told.
Giving details of CDA projects, chairman CDA told that dualisation of Lehtrar road would ease tariff on Nilore, Kahuta, Ali Pur Farash, Sumbli dam and from other parts of the country.
Homework has been completed for launching of municipal bond valuing 3 billion rupees, he pointed out.
