Karachi: PPP candidate for LA30 Jammu 1 (Karachi) Sardar Maqsooduz Zaman has said that a political party forces Kashmiris in Karachi to cast votes in its candidate’s favour, which creates a bad image of Pakistan across the world.
He was reacting to the postponement of elections in two constituencies of Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly for which Kashmiris residing in Karachi are eligible to vote.
He said that a political party of Karachi which claims to represent 98 percent people of the country had collected identity cards from the Kashmiris residing in Karachi forcibly in order to rig elections. “Since the Election Commission has thwarted its plans by postponing elections, it is making a hue and cry.”
He said MQM’s candidate Tahir Khokhar does not belong to any of Kashmiri bradaries living in Karachi and no Kashmiri attends his meetings.
He demanded that Election Commission ensure transparent elections in LA30 by taking action against those elements that force people to cast vote against their conscience.
