Muzaffarabad/Islamabad/London: The electioneering for the scheduled Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) general elections has peaked with heightened political temperature. The election campaign will end on Friday mid night.
Before the end of electioneering, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, who is personally heading the PPP election campaign, and PML-N chief Nawz , are scheduled to address major public meetings in AJK on Friday.
Candidates and leaders of other parties including Jamat-e-Islami, Jamiat Ulema Islam, Muslim Conference, Jammu & Kashmir People’s Party and other are also busing in canvassing and addressing public meetings, rallies and crooner meeting  to garner public support for their candidates.
Though the electioneering would end on Friday midnight, but even after that the candidates would indulged into door-to-door campaign and would try their best to reach out to every voter to ensure maximum support. Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani will hold a rally in the Kel area of Neelum and in Kotli today.
Meanwhile, AJK Election Commission said the election campaign for the 41-seat Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly would end 32 hours before the beginning of polling.
The spokesman of AJK Election Commission said that there would be a complete ban on holding any sort of public meeting or procession by any political or independent candidate soon after the end of the election campaign.
Sharif on AJK election:
Pakistan Muslim league (N) leader Mian Nawaz Sharif said that recently started development projects in AJK are just the election stunt of Pakistani government.
Speaking to a public meeting here in Ath maqam he said govt. has not start any development project in last three year but now govt. is starting the development projects and using them as a election stunt.
“I am not a person to do false promises, we did every in past for the development of Pakistan and if we get succeeded then we will resolve an electricity problems of AJK”,he added.

“June 24 would be the last day for the election campaign in line with the code of conduct and the elections schedule, the spokesman said, adding, after the dead line, no candidate would be allowed to hold any sort of corner or public meeting or procession.
Our UK correspondent adds: The Kashmir expatriates in UK are taking great interests in the AJK elections. The British Kashmiris are fully involved in the elections and are trying to ensure support for candidates of their likings through approaching their clans and communities back in AJK.
Elections for 41 seats of the 49-member AJK Legislative Assembly will be held on June 26 while and remaining eight seats are reserved seats. As many as 772 people had filed nomination papers for the 41 seats out them 421 were allowed to contest elections.
