Washington: The United States President Barack Obama is expected on Wednesday to draw his plans for the draw down of the US troops from Afghanistan.
According to the reports, 30,000 US troops are likely to be withdrawn.
President Obama has been under pressure from Pentagon that he should announce withdrawn of only 5,000 troops from Afghanistan this year. On the other hand, Afghan President Hamid Karzai opposes this decision of troops draw down. The US president is also under severe pressure from Democrats.
The US president will announce withdrawal of 30,000 thousand troops, setting aside the suggestions of Pentagon.
Some people are of view that announcement regarding the withdrawal of troops will be made in 2012 rather than July, and the troops would be pulled out in two phases- 15000 at the end of this year and the remaining in the next year.
The responsibility to withdrawn the remaining troops by 2014 would rest with the commanders on the ground.
