Islamabad: Tahseen Anwar Shah has been nominated as new Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan on late Sunday.
Anwar Shah had been working as Additional DG Federal Investigation Agency. He is also a grade 21 police officer. He had remained Inspector General Police (IGP) Gilgit-Baltistan province of Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that Supreme Court of Pakistan had indicted former DG FIA Malik Iqbal in a contempt of court case. He had been indicted of contempt of court for interfering in judicial affairs by writing a letter to the Interior Ministry of Pakistan, causing transfer of an officer who was investigating the multi-billion-rupee scam in the National Insurance Company (NICL).
It is also worth mentioning here that this was the third key transfer in FIA within three months. Before Iqbal Mehmood for DGÂ Waseem Ahmed was also removed from his post.
