Bangkok: Defending champion Pakistan thrashed Brunei in the Junior Asian Hockey Tournament with a big margin of 18 goals.
Green shirts showed their graceful performance against team Brunei by scoring 18 goals. The rival team could not score even a single goal.
It is worth mentioning that it is record in the history of junior hockey match.
Pakistani team will play its second match against China on June 20.
Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Asif Bajwa has said that junior players were talented and they have potential to win the tournament. He said they could be included in the senior team if they showed good performances. He hoped that junior would bring the cup to Pakistan as seniors won gold medal in the Asian Cup.
Pakistan’s junior hockey team has won Junior Asia Cup in 2009 was held in Myanmar.
