Islamabad: Heavy rain blessed the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Lahore, AJK and different areas of the country on night between Friday and Saturday, bringing a pleasant change in the weather to some extent and bringing down the temperature.
According to Metrological Department, the recent shower in different areas of the country has broke 30 years old record of rain in month of June.
53 millimeter rains was recorded in Lahore. There were also reports of rain in Faisalabad, Balakot, Jhelum, Sialkot, Kotli, Mangla, Murree, Kakol and Rawlakot.
Highest level of 59 mm of rain was recorded in Syedpur area of Islamabad. The rain had also disturbed flight schedule in Lahore and Islamabad.
According to PIA authorities, most flights bound for Lahore were re-scheduled or sent to Islamabad, causing problems for the passengers .
A flight bound for Bangkok took off one hour late and another flight for Islamabad had been canceled.
