Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered the government that Director General Sindh Rangers Ijaz Chaudhry and Inspector General Sindh Police Fayaz Leghari be removed within three days.
The CJ ruled that if the officers were not removed their salaries would be withheld.
A larger bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice ,was hearing the suo motu notice action taken by the court against the extra judicial killing of youth in Karachi on Wednesday.
Inspector General Singh Fayaz Leghari, Director General Sindh Rangers Major Gen Ijaz Chaudhry, Chief Secretary Sindh Subhan Memon, federal interior Sindh and Attorney General Pakistan Maulvi Anwarul Haq appeared before the court.
The court in its verdict ruled that a the trial court would conduct hearing into the case on the daily basis and would decide the case within 30 days.The bench observed that Altaf Khuwaja would be the investigation officer into the case.
During the hearing the CJ asked DJ Rangers why the only two Rangers official were handed over to to the police. The DG replied as saying rest of four officials were in the Rangers’ custody.
