Lahore: Renowned Pakistani actor Jameel Fakhri passed away in Pakistan’s eastern province’s capital city, Lahore, on Thursday night, Fakhri’s family member confirms.
He was admitted into the Mayo Hospital Lahore on May 31, and has been on ventilator for a few days. He also suffered a stroke a week back.
Jameel Fakhri’s son Nawaz Fakhri has confirmed that his father has been died.
Jameel Fakhri was passing a disturbed life following the death of his son, Ali Fakhri, who was killed in the United States last year.
Punjab government had pledged to send him to any foreign country for treatment but he did not survive.
Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and others has expressed their regret over the demise of Jamil Fakhri.
Fakhri had worked in many films and TV dramas. The most popular drama in which he demonstrated his talent was Andhera Ujala in which he played the role of cop Muhammad Hussein.
