Islamabad: Jamaat-e-Islami on Thursday moved to Senate against the Kharoteabad suspicious encounter, wherein police and FC officials shot dead five Chechen nationals including three women dubbing them suicide bombers.
But later on, it was emerged the Chechen national were unarmed.
An adjourned motion signed by JI’s Senator Prof. Khursheed Ahmed, Senator Prof. Muhamamd Ibrahim Khan and Senator Aafia Zia was submitted to Senate Secretariats. They have requested the chair to suspend house proceedings and hold debate over the suspicious encounter. They termed the ‘cold-blooded’ killing of unarmed people as barbarism. They further said that it was emerged that the women were begging for life by raising their hands, but they were shoot dead mercilessly, which is deplorable. They demanded that the responsible officials should be brought to justice.
Meanwhile, the JI through a statement appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the fake encounter, wherein the FC officials shot dead five unarmed civilians.
