New Delhi: An Indian court on Saturday rejected bail plea of Swami Aseemanand, the key accused of the 2007 Ajmer dargah blast in which three people were killed and 15 others injured .He is also an accused in several other blast cases across the county including those at Hyderabad’s Mecca Masjid, Samjhauta Express and Malegaon.
The accused had filed the bail application in the CBI court on the grounds that he had been kept in custody for more than 90 days and investigation agencies had failed to file a challand (chargesheet) against him.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had sought more time to file chargesheet against him.
He had earlier allegedly confessed to not only his involvement in the blasts, but many other colleagues of his organization in the cases. Aseemanand in his alleged confession before a magistrate had taken the name of senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar in connection with the dargah blast.
Later, he accused the investigating agencies of harassment and taking a forced confession from him.
