Karachi: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to observe Sunday as day of mourning against the killing of its ex member provincial assembly Liaquat Qureshi.
MQM leader Farooq Sattar while speaking to media here on Saturday termed the killing of Qureshi as great tragedy and said that 100 party workers have been killed in last four months.
He said that the rapid increase in target killing of MQM workers was witnessed after the statement of Zulfiqar Mirza in which he had said that why the MQM activists are not killed in targeted killings.
He warned that if the steps were not taken to stop target killing of party workers then the MQM would announce its future course of action.
Sattar demanded of the government to immediately arrest the elements behind the killings.He added that the government should take the MQM protest as warning.
Meanwhile, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain endorsed the party decision to observe day of mourning and said that solid measures have not been taken to arrest the killers of party activists.
