Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) on Monday agreed on the power sharing formula and both the parties are busy in giving final touch to the agreement to be signed between them before PML-Q’s joining of the federal government.
Sources told The News Tribe that ongoing extensive negotiations between the two parties are bearing fruits and the two sides have agreed on the power sharing formula.
They said that next week a meeting between the two parties is likely to be held at Presidency, wherein the two sides might sign the power-sharing agreement.
As per the clauses of the draft agreement, the PML-Q will be accommodated in the 12 vacant ministries and Mushahid Hussain will be Pakistan Ambassador to United Nations. The PML-Q will get five ministries out of the vacant 12 ministers. MQM will be given three ministries it was earlier holding.
The draft agreement has also clauses about future’s political moves by the two parties including seat adjustments in coming local bodies’ elections, Senate elections and next general elections.
Meanwhile, media reports said that PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pervai Elahi will reach Islamabad and will hold talks with party leaders about the power sharing deal.
