Karachi: Legendary actor and comedian Moin Akhtar was laid to restĀ amid heart wrenching echoes of mournful cries and tearsĀ here on Saturday.
Akhtar died of a heart attack on Friday evening in Karachi. A large number of people, including artists from the entertainment industry attended his funeral prayer,offered at Toheed Masjid Malir Cantonment area. former singer Junaid Jamshaid led the funeral.Later he was laid to rest at Model town graveyard.
The Great TV, stage and film actor was survived by his wife, three daughters and two sons.
The 61-year old actor started was born on 24 December 1950. Akther was a great actor of television, stage and theater. He was also a brilliant comedian impersonator.
Moin Akhtar had been rewarded Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

Aktherās colleagues Umer Sharif, Bushra Ansari, Rauf Lala, Qawi Khan, Ghazala Javed, Javed Shaikh and others paid rich tribute the legendary actor. They said Akther was not only a good actor but also a great human being.
A large number of Akthtar’s fan including provincial ministers political activists attended the occasion.Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khoro , prominent writer and Moin’s friend Anwar Maqsood, former squash star Jahangir Khan,former City Nazim Mustafa Kamal,Ā were also present.Strict security arrangements were made around the graveyard keeping in view presence of high profile personalities.
