Washington: Central Investigation Agency (CIA) spy network has been established in Pakistan besides, there is no need of Inter-Services Intelligence assistance to carry out drone strikes in the tribal areas of Pakistan.
United States officials admitted that CIA network has been established in the tribal region of Pakistan within last two years, and decline in drone strikes in northwest Pakistan is unacceptable for the US, they added.
The officials further stated that there is not need of ISI support to carry out drone strikes in the tribal area of Pakistan but targets of drone attacks have been informed.
They said US would not describe the reason of the drone strikes in Pakistan. They said Pakistan is using delaying tactics to issue visas to Pakistan.
Since the arrest of Raymond Davis, a CIA agent who shot dead two Pakistanis on January 27, in Lahore, ties strategic ties between Pakistan and the US have been suspended.
Davis has been release but tension between both the countries is still continued because the US want to boost drone strikes in the tribal region of Pakistan but Pakistan’s top military officials have not only criticized the drone attacks but also demanded to reduce CIA agents from Pakistan.
This demand has further increased tense between both the countries and finally the US officials refused Pakistani demands regarding CIA activities.
