Chief Justice summoned the Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad and directed him to provide security to Kamal Azfar. The CJ asked IG to record statement of Azfar’s wife.He observed that the court might constitute a bench to hear the matter.
Justice Saqib Nisar observed that Kamal Azfar has been summoned to assist the court in NRO case and contempt of court notice could be issued to Abu Baakr for threats. He remarked that investigation could be ordered as whose’ behest the threats were given.
He further remarked that apex court judges could be threatened in future if Azfar is being threatened today.
Lawyer Abu Bakar Zardari argued that he had not telephoned Azfar wife and not gave any threat.
