Karachi: Police have arrested two extortionists including a former police constable from Karachi, DIG South said on Tuesday.
While addressing a press conference at Drakshan Police Station DIG South Zone Iqbal Mehmood said Aamir and Yaseen have taken extortion of RKR 15 million from 100 shopkeepers of Clifton and Gizri areas of Karachi.
One of the arrested accused Yaseen used the name of Baba Ladla, leader of the notorious gang of Liyari, for extortion, the DIG informed.
Iqbal Mehmood said the arrested accused had gotten the numbers of traders and shopkeepers through telephone directory.
Sources said five extortionists have also been arrested for taking extortions from five shopkeepers.
