Washington: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday expressed concerns over the human rights situation in Pakistan.
While presenting the annual human rights report she said human rights were violated in 2010. She said only in Punjab province of Pakistan 2700 cases of human rights violation were reported.
She said police also not played his role properly and people were illegally detained. She said women were also harassed in prisons. She said the arrested accused were not presented before the court.
The US secretary of state said that corruption is general in Pakistan government and police department. She said no initiatives have been taken to wipe out corruption from Pakistan.
She said religious sects and minorities have not been protected in Pakistan. She said Salman Taseer and Shahbaz Bhatti, two high level government officials, were assassinated in the beginning of 2011.

She mentioned that the reports has been prepared over the details given by non-government organizations working in Pakistan.
