Lahore:Punjab Government has embroiled on a plan to cope with the situation emerged after young doctors of the province have decided to continue their prolonged protest.
Media reports said that the provincial government have announced to terminate all the protesting doctors who have been boycotting hospitals, putting the lives of several patients in danger. At least eight patients have died in Multan and Bahawalpur districts due to unavailability of doctors in the hospitals.
A spokesman of the Punjab government said on Saturday that the terminated doctors would not be allowed to do private practice and experience certificate would not be issued as well.
Sources said that at least two doctors have also been arrested in the province.The sources said that several doctors are joining their duties after the provincial government’s strict stance.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday had warned the Young Doctors Association to end their boycott within 24 hours other wise strict action would be taken.
He had also said that an emergency would be imposed in the hospitals if needed.
The doctors are pressing the government for increase in their salaries.
