Washington: Pantagon has said that coalition allies fires 14 missiles attacks over Libya ob Thursday but denied all allegations that the airstrikes over Libya caused the death of innocent civilians.
Vice Admiral of William Gortney, director of the Joint Staff, remarked that 350 jet fighters, half of which are US jets, have been deployed in the allied operations. He denied any contacts with the insurgents and added that the command of Odyssey Dawn should be taken from the US by the end of the week.
Gortney said the US probably will continue flying combat missions over Libya once the US relinquishes command of the air campaign to NATO or others as early as this weekend.
He told reporters that the US role would predominantly be in support of allied partners, with refueling missions, surveillance, reconnaissance and other non-combat flights.
