Ahmedabad: India beat Australia by five wickets in the second quarter-final of cricket World Cup 2011 at Sardar Patel Gujrat Stadium on Thursday.
Yuvraj Sindh, Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir scored fifties. They scored 57, 53 and 50 runs respectively, while Suresh Raina and Virat Kholi scored 34 and 24 runs, respectively.
Brett Lee, Shaun Tait, Shane Watson and David Hussy took one wicket each.
Earlier, Kangaroos captain Ricky Ponting won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 260 runs for the loss of six wickets in allotted 50 overs.
Ponting scored highest 104 runs for Australia while Brad Haddin, David Hussy and Shane Watson scored 53, 38 and 24 runs.
Zaheer Khan, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuvraj Singh got two wickets each.
Yuvraj Singh was declared man of the match owing to his good all-round performance.
Now, Pakistan and India will meat each other in semi-final on March 30 in Mohali.
