Manama: Riot police has been trying to control the anti-government violent demonstrators camping in a square on Wednesday.
The police fired tear gas at the violent demonstrators, who have been challenging the government.
The government has declared martial law and called in Saudi troops to help keep order.
Media reports say armoured vehicles moved in shortly after dawn and the security forces now appear to have full control of the square.
The protests in Bahrain began last month. The protestors complain lack of political freedom and reforms.
The king reshuffled his cabinet on February 26, replacing four ministers, including two royal family members.
