Washington: Secretary of State Hilary Clinton has said that the US has not paid any money for the release of Raymond Davis, a CIA contractor and killer of two Pakistanis in Lahore on January 27.
She in a statement issued on Wednesday said that the US government is very thankful over the release of Davis. She said the US officials were in touch with Pakistani government for the release of Davis.
US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Mintor in his statement said that Davis issue would help to further strengthen relationship between US and Pakistan.
He said US officials would investigate Davis in Afghanistan before leaving for the US.
Davis would leave for the US from Kabul on Thursday, US officials said.
On the other hand, an American newspaper has revealed that Obama administration had been striving hard for the release of Davis for three weeks. The US officials wanted to release Davis before Pakistani court convicted him in the murder of two Pakistanis.
