Islamabad: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari called Muttahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain late Tuesday evening and assured him that all reservations of MQM would be addressed.
MQM members presented their reservations to Zardari during a meeting in President’s House in Islamabad and demanded sacking of Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfikar Ali Mirza for giving provoking statements. MQM members said that their alliance with PPP would not continue any more if Mirza was not removed.
After the meeting, a handout was issued which said that a joint meeting of both parties (MQM and PPP) would be organised in the next week.
In the meeting, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad, Chief Minister Sindh and representatives of both parties would take part.
Sources said that president Zardari told MQM that political reconciliation remained vital for the development of Sindh.
