Islamabad: Pakistan interior minister Rehman Malik urged ulema on Tuesday to talk to militants fighting armed forces and persuade them to drop guns.
Speaking to a gathering of ulema, he said the real ulema are spreading the message of Islam and only those pick up guns who get dollars. He said Muslims had not given any example of Islamic state to the world.
He urged conspiracies have been hatched against Muslims, which cannot be defeated unless Muslims mended their ways. “I have contacts with Jamat-e-Islami, JUI, Sunni Tehreek, Haneef Jalandhari Sb, everyone. We want you to talk to these people and persuade them to stop fighting, but we are not going to bow down before these people.”
