Karachi: On the call of Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI), a strike is being observed by transporters in Karachi, causing hardships for commuters as they waited for hours for buses to reach their destinations.
The Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) had announced a strike for an indefinite period from Thursday against the fresh hike in petroleum prices.
The strike has also paralyzed trade activities in the city markets.
Earlier, the Anjuman-e-Ettehad Bus Malikan Karachi on Wednesday announced to fully support the strike call of KTI and demanded immediate reduction in diesel prices.
Anjuman-e-Ettehad Bus Malika President Muhammad Ashraf Banglori and other leaders warned if the government ignored their one-day strike, they would opt for strike for indefinite period.
Green buses and CNG buses were plying on the roads and rickshaw and taxi owners were over charging from the commuters.
