Karachi: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday called Muttahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain and assured him that recent prices hike in petroleum products would be reviewed.
He assured Hussain that reservations of MQM would be considered. He also said that Federal Finance Minister Abdul Hafiz Shaikh has been called in Karachi to discuss and resolve the issue.
Earlier MQM’s members walked out of the National Assembly session to protest against recent price hike in POL products. MQM is an ally of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) both at centre and in Sindh.
All political parties including Awami National Party, another ally of PPP, have condemned the decision of the government. They termed the decision injustice.
