Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership lashed out the PML-N chief Nawaz ‘s statement as even the single point of the 10-point reforms agenda was not implemented by the government.
Addressing a press conference in response to Nawaz Sharif press conference in which he announced that the PML-N had decided to oust the PPP minister in the Punjab cabinet, PPP leader and federal minister Raza Rabbani said that the PPP accepts the PML-N decision and would sit on opposition benches in the Punjab assembly.
Dispelling the Nawaz’s allegation he said that Sharif brothers were not disqualified by President Zardari.
Rabbani said that the country was facing challenges of terrorism, economic crunch, sense of deprivation among the federating units when the PPP came into power.
Federal Law Minister Babar Awan , Information Secretary PPP Qamar Zaman Kaira and Raja Riaz was also present on the occasion.
He said that the people would decide how much the PPP acted upon the PML-N 10-ponit agenda, adding that despite the 10-point agenda was the part of the PPP’s manifesto the government sincerely worked on it.
Rabbani said that the PPP was following the politics of reconciliation and principles.
Citing the achievement of the PPP led government he said that the government passed 18th and 19th amendment to the Constitution, besides addressing the issue of National Finance Award in collaboration with the all political parities in the parliament
He said that the prices of petroleum prices were not increased in line with the PML-N agenda over last two months and the issue of forming a mechanism to monitor petroleum prices was also tried to be implemented as the premier form a committee to address the demand.
The demand of cutting cabinet to size was also met as now only 21 ministers were inducted in the cabinet, he added.
