Karachi: The Pakistan International Airline (PIA)’s inaugural flight with 100 passengers on board for Colombo, Sri Lanka departed from Quaid-i-Azam International Airport Karachi on Saturday.
The flight was seen off by the newly-appointed Managing Director of the PIA, Nadeem Khan Yousafzai along with Director Marketing PIA, Imran Ahmad Khan and other Officials.
The PIA now operates flights to Colombo every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with convenient timings.
Managing Director PIA, Nadeem Khan Yousafzai while sharing his views on the occasion said that the airline has re-commenced its flights to Colombo after a period of 3 years. The flight operation to Colombo fulfills the long standing demand of Pakistani passengers, business community and expatriates settled in Sri Lanka and will bring closer the people of both countries.
He said that PIA is pleased to commence its flights for Colombo with the start of Cricket World Cup. PIA is also offering special packages for its passengers who would like to visit Sri Lanka for the Cricket World Cup.
