Karachi: President Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (PALPA) and General Secretary, joint action committee has threatened Pakistan International Airline (PIA) administration to cancel all the flights following the dismissal of six employees.
Meanwhile, several local and foreign flights have already been cancelled. PIA joint action committee has threatened to block the system if the agreement with Turkish Airline was not withdrawn.
After the warning, at least 30 pilots reported their sick leave on Monday night. Due to their immediate leave, several local and foreign flights were disrupted. The PIA committee staged a protest at Karachi Airport and chanted slogans against Managing Director PIA.
On the other hand, PIA spokesman said that no agreement or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been signed with Turkish Airline (TA). PIA and TA have proposed a code share arrangement, he said adding that the code share agreements that are being done by most of the airlines to increase profitability and enhance routes without incurring additional costs.
