Moscow:Chechen warlord Doku Umarov has accepted responsibility for bomb attack last month on Moscow airport, news agencies reported.
At least 36 people were killed and another 180 injured in the suicide attack on Domodedovo international airport on January 24.
The warlord in a video said that the attack was a response to “Russian crimes in the Caucasus”. He express resolved that similar attacks would continue in Russia.
“This special operation was carried out on my orders and, God willing, special operations like it will continue to be carried out.” Umarov added.
Umarov is leader of the “Caucasus Emirate”, an Islamist militant group spanning the North Caucasus, and is one of the few prominent Chechen rebels still active, having served as security minister in the Chechen separatist government from 1996-99.
The warlord also spoke about the situation in Sudan.
