Think of any record about centuries, whether in test or one-day cricket, the name of Sachin comes to mind. He tops almost every list concerning centuries. But he is at No. 3 in the list of centuries in world cup games.
He has scored four centuries as have Ganguly and Mark Waugh. But for his four centuries, he played 36 matches, while Ganguly and the younger Waugh played 21 and 22 to claim the first and second position.
At No. 4 is the Australian captain Ricky Ponting who has four centuries from 39 games.
Sachin, Ponting and Kevin Pieterson are the only current players in the top ten. Pieterson is at No. 10 with two centuries from just nine games.
Scott Styris also has two centuries, but he is far behind the English batsman since he has played 18 games.
