Karachi: Sindh government has decided to sack 97 contractual officers of grade 16 to 17, sources said on Friday.
The sources said that Services and General Aadministration Department has forwarded a summary to Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah regarding removal of the officers till February 10.
They said that the action is being taken in connection with the Supreme Court ruling in which the court had ordered Sindh Government to compile list of contract officers in the provincial government and produce before the court. A six-member bench of the apex court while hearing a case against the alleged corruption in Haj arrangements, sought the lists of officers who were appointed on key posts, including officers of IG and DIG level and ruled that these officials would be served notices, asking them as to under what authority they were reappointed.
