Islamabad, Cairo: All Pakistanis in Egypt were okay and if needed they would be rescued from the troubled country, the Foreign Office Spokespersons Abdul Basit said while talking to a private TV channel here on Sunday.
He said that there were around 800 to 1000 Pakistanis in Egypt, adding that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy in Cairo was in close contact with the Pakistanis present in Egypt.
He said that some of Pakistanis have contacted the Pakistani Embassy in Egypt they are worried over the current situation, adding that the Pakistani citizens could contact on this number in Cairo (0020237487806) if they feel any difficult situation.
Meanwhile talking to a private TV channel Pakistan Ambassador in Cairo Seema Naqvi said that she has requested Pakistani government to send C 130 plane for safe evacuation of Pakistanis from Egypt.
She said nearly 150 families are presently living in Egypt and these families are living in the cities of Egypt and Iskandria, adding that there is no presence of security forces in the Cairo and “ we have passed sleepless night on Saturday”.
She said that it is imperative to evacuate the ladies, children and old persons from the Egypt, adding that most of the airlines have stopped the aerial service to Egypt.
She said that all the Pakistanis till date are safe and sound, adding that she has requested the Pakistani Foreign Ministry to initiate steps on war footing for the evacuation of Pakistani citizens.
