Lahore: Punjab Deputy Prosecutor General Rana Bakhtiar said on Sunday that Raymond Davis had no immunity under Vienna convention. He said that Davis had not killed two Pakistani citizens in self defence, “ if it is proved that the diseased sustained gunshot wounds on the back parts of their bodies it would be considered that Davis’ act was not in self defence” he added.
Bakhtiar said that any diplomat who committed any crime during his diplomatic duty has immunity under the Vienna convention while Raymond Davis was not on such a duty, adding that weapon of offense have also been recovered from the possession of the accused.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that government did not kept mum over the firing incident in Lahore by the US official, adding that he would not comment on the matter as it was sub-judice
The PM said that the Punjab government was conducting the an inquiry into the case.
