Islamabad: A petition seeking imposition of an emergency in Sindh against Karachi target killings was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday.
Advocate Asad Tariq, in his petition under Article 184(3) of the Constitution, demanded that the army should be called in the metropolis to maintain law and order and Interior Minister Rehman Malik be removed for his failure in containing target killings in the country’s commercial capital.
The federal interior minister, Sindh chief secretary and home secretary have been made respondent in the application.
